Fushimi Inari Shrine (伏見稲荷大社)

posted in: Japan | 0

These are called Torii from Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, Japan.  They were donated by a Japanese business and there are more than 10,000 of them in the shrine.

This special part is called “One Thousand Torii” and it’s one of the most popular spots. As you can see the color difference, some of them are very old and others are new.  You can feel the sacred atmosphere here.  I would love to go back there sometime.

I have more pictures but I haven’t have time to edit them…  I might post them later or put in the portfolio.
